Painting with Light

Every April 26th, the ghost of steamboat stoker William Flanagan revisits the bank where his vessel ran aground during the historic summer storm of 1874.
I shot this photo with Matt Busch and Nick Michael by painting with light at Cooper's Landing in Columbia, Mo.

Multiple Flash

Kandice Grossman, owner of Moon Belly Dance Studio in Columbia, Mo., leads her Intermediate Belly Dance class through warm-ups on April 12. Grossman founded Moon Belly Dance Studio in 2002 out of her home. The studio is now located in the North Village Arts District.
This week we worked in pairs to make a photograph using multiple flashes. I photographed a belly dance class with Dak Dillon at Moon Belly Dance Studio in Columbia, Mo. I used a remote from my camera to set off two flashes that were situated on the front two corners of the room. I chose this photograph because I like the fact that you can see the sun setting through the window.

Video Interview

In Advanced Techniques this week, we shot video interviews on a Nikon D7000 of our classmates talking about their favorite photograph. Using Final Cut Express, we eliminated the green screen we shot against, edited the take and added transitions and an image of the photograph. Nick Michael interviewed me. Here's the video.
