Color Correction

Local artist David Spear layers on the base colors of his 11-by-6 foot painting for Boone Hospital in his studio at Alley Way Arts. The final work will be an aerial view of Columbia. He hopes to finish it by late April.
For this assignment in my Advanced Techniques class, I had to photograph under two different lighting situations, fluorescent and tungsten, and correct the color casts by putting gels on my off-camera flash and adjusting the white balance on my camera.

The photograph above was shot under fluorescent light. I used a Roscosun 85 gel on my flash and set my white balance to warm-white fluorescent. This removed the orange cast from the fluorescent bulb.
